¶ Using Jupyter Lab
¶ Jupyter Dashboard
Upon starting Jupyter Lab for the first time, you will see the lab's dashboard, which is a combination of a "file explorer" sidebar on the left and the launcher window on the right:
The sidebar is actually a powerful tool, more than just a file explorer:
The "+" button is what you click in case you lose your launcher button.
From the launcher, you can create various things:
- A notebook running Python 3 kernel
- A console running Python 3 (this is actually ipython, an augmented terminal interface to Python)
- A terminal running shell
- A text editor with an empty text or markdown file.
