This was a hands-on introduction to Wahab HPC, geared toward new HPC users. In this training, we learn how to use SLURM to submit & manage jobs on Wahab cluster using the UNIX shell interface.
In the recorded workshop, short tutorials alternate with hands-on practical exercises, and participants are expected to follow along the hands-on activities to learn the practical skills of interacting with an HPC system. For the maximum benefit, participants are advised to use a laptop to learn along with the recorded instructions.

Hands-on activities in this workshop need to be performed on the cluster's terminal interface (UNIX shell), you need to have the working knowledge of UNIX shell for this workshop. We will not teach UNIX shell in this workshop. If you need to learn about shell, please refer to one of these lessons:
Both of these resources are suitable for self-study. Learners can use our DeapSECURE lessons to get started quickly with a few basic commands. However, if time permits, we highly recommend that you learn the Software Carpentry lesson and do the exercises, which will give you much confidence in using the powerful UNIX shell interface.
